Superpages Launches Pay Per Call

Posted: August 9, 2005

AOL & Ingenio did it first.
Everyone watched.
Everyone talked about pay per call.
No one made a move.
Until Superpages debuted it’s pay per call solution today.

The major difference in Superpages adding pay per call as compared to AOL or Google is that Superpages is already a yellow page property. The effectiveness of showing phone numbers on search results pages, while users are still searching - not calling - has yet to be seen. However, we all know that users make phone calls from yellow page listings.

This seems a very natural fit in the evolution of pay per call and Superpages.com ever expanding advertising efforts into being a destination portal, and not an arbitrage site from other search providers.

I’ve not tested this product yet - but I soon will. I’m expecting this to be the most effective pay per call solution to date - and maybe one of the most effective that can be launched in the current iteration of this advertising format. Keep your eyes open on the pay per call front, it will grow, and Superpages has the data and users to make it happen.
